Southlanders teach their children not to eat yellow snow. In Nordent, parents tell them to run if they see red snow, lest they encounter brigands or man-eating monsters.
A Nord chieftain's favorite amusement was to execute a village's adults, then force their offspring to have a red snowball fight.
Inspired by the battles she'd seen in Nordent, a former soldier returned to the south and began selling flavored snow treats during the winter months. Her most popular dessert was bright red -- and called a 'Northland Massacre'.

After the monster went down, someone celebrated by throwing a red snowball at the back of your head. You're not quite sure who it was -- but Medea laughed loudest.
Snow monsters are difficult to destroy with swords or arrows. It's a good thing Elyssa was around.
In Nordent, a "ring made of snow" is proverbial for a gift which proves to be of fleeting value.
