Half a dozen men and women remained, standing around the coffin, their armor painted in six of the rainbow's hues. Sir Bohemond the Orange murmered a paladin's prayer. Sir Emeric the Yellow bowed his head, pondering the grand deeds of a warrior he had often heard lauded but never met. Sir Aaron the Blue gazed into frozen features that seemed only to slumber, spoke a silent farewell, and remembered. Sir Colbaeus the Green was silent and sober, his mind given to grief instead of mushrooms. Sar Wenni the Violet bit her lip and glanced at the doorway. Tears glistened like dew on Sar Meura the Indigo's furry cheeks. She reached into the casket and clasped a hand encased in scarlet steel. | |
