| As they are on so many things, historians are divided in their opinions of Lord Chalmonser -- the nobleman who led an uprising against the crown, and attempted to carve out his own autonomous nation within Rhynhart. The man himself claimed that he yearned to build a more just society, where all distinctions of class and birth were cast aside, and peasants could hold their heads as high as lords. Scholars who favor him say he was sincere in these lofty goals. However, others suggest that he was simply sick of paying taxes, and further motivated by personal aggrandizement. | |
