Lore

The First Wish. The initial wish had been rather typical, the common "I'd like infinite wishes, please." Normally a ridiculous request, but Sal'sheen had grown bored over the centuries and decided to entertain the notion, "I shall not grant you a limitless number of requests, but I shall provide a great deal more than three. Now, what is your second wish?"
The Second Wish. Sal'sheen rubbed his eyes in frustration, "While my powers are rather considerable, I cannot grant you the wish of becoming Erebus, but a good version that breathes mint chocolates instead of fire." Perhaps he had made a mistake with this mortal.
The Third Wish. Now this was an easy accomodation. A sharp sword and a magical set of protective clothing that remains resolute but fashionable. The additional djinn servant to act as a constant guardian was trickier, but luckily Sal'sheen had a few favors he could still call upon as needed.
The Fourth Wish. Sal'sheen had been vague on the precise number of wishes he would grant, but that didn't seem to bother the mortal as they continued to ponder their next desire. After a moment of hesitation the mortal grinned from ear to ear, "OK, you may want to write this down. It starts with a giant, chocolate cake made in the likeness of Erebus. Then we start adding the dancers here, here and here..." It would be a long, but entertaining day as Sal'sheen had predicted.
The Fifth Wish. "Mortal, do you not desire things beyond your own interests? Peace upon Tor'gyyl, an end to famine, an end to war?" The mortal shrugged, "If you couldn't turn me into a giant Erebus breathing mint candies I figured a lot of that stuff was off the table. So, let's focus up - we still haven't gotten to the magical sword that sings the last song you had stuck in your head."
The Sixth Wish. The mortal tugged on their new clothes approvingly, then contemplated their next wish. Sal'sheen had seen many mortals over his many years of existence and granted countless wishes. He could recite most of them from memory as they all followed the same pattern, but he sensed this mortal might have a more interesting series of desires. Thus far he had been mostly right. "OK!" the mortal started, "I think it's time we start talking magical army." Or, perhaps they were not so different after all.
The Seventh Wish. "How about boots that allow me to walk forever and never get tired?" Sal'sheen closed his eyes and a faint, magical aura encircled the boots, "Great! It feels like my feet are encased in feathered pillows. Minus the sweating and mites."
The Eighth Wish. "Ok, I wish for ten extra arms and four extra legs and two sets of wings." Sal'sheen pondered the request a moment, "I am unable to grant such a wish. Alterations to your body are forbidden ever since the djah'kalim incident; a series of wishes gone rather wrong." The mortal's shoulders sagged in disappointment, but quickly bounded back with a massive grin on their face, "OK! I wish for a really pretty ring." Sal'sheen would never understand mortals, but granted the request all the same.
The Tenth Wish. "I wish for another djinn! But, this djinn's entire purpose is to serve as my ever vigilant steed to carry me anywhere I desire. "Sal'sheen smiled, "I know one such individual who would be happy to aid in this endeavour. It shall be done." And just like that, another lamp appeared. Once the mortal rubbed the side of the lamp a magical horse emerged and pawed the ground. Telepathically, the newly arrived djinn reached out to Sal'sheen, "How long must I endure this embarrassment?" Sal'sheen grinned as he replied in the same fashion, "As long as I deem it necessary to pay off your considerable debt. Best invest in a comfortable saddle."
The Ninth Wish. The mortal started inspecting their garb, still satisfied with the investment, "Alright, I'd like to wish for a magical amulet that keeps me protected from harm. It should look gorgeous though and definitely should bring out the color in my eyes - that's probably the most important aspect, the protection is good but the eye thing is critical." Sal'sheen waved his hand and a beautiful, gem encrusted necklace now adorned the mortal's neck. "This is great! Does it protect against blades and spells alike?" Sal'sheen crossed his arms, "Certain qualities of your wish had to be sacrificed for the sake of your most important request. You will find yourself more rugged than the average mortal, but best not leap into a burning building any time soon."
The Eleventh Wish. The mortal, in between bites of chocolate which now covered their face, looked at Sal'sheen's manacled wrists, "Why are you shackled up? Are you a servant to someone else?" Sal'sheen was surprised, but replied with honesty, "I am bound in service to the whole of Tor'gyyl in a fashion. My kind is charged with the granting of boons and these shackles keep us tethered to your world until our debts are paid in full to the mortal realm." The mortal leapt to their feet, "It's ok! I can free you. Sal'sheen, I wish for you to be FREE!" A long moment of silence followed the wish, Sal'sheen sighed, "Although I appreciate the sentiment, I am afraid such a request cannot be granted to a mere mortal." The mortal sat back down and sighed, "Well, that's a shame. It worked in the play I saw."
"The Twelfth Wish. "So, these warriors will obey my every command?" Sal'sheen hovered nearby, arms crossed as usual, "Within reason, yes. They will protect you from bodily harm and fight your enemies should you but give them the order to do so." The mortal's grin widened as they replied, "Great! Because I have a castle that needs assaulting. Let's get to it!"
The Seventeenth and Final Wish. "Sal'sheen, this has been a great journey so far. But I never want to return to the life I once knew. My whole life I've had to carry out the wishes of others, now I get to do the wishing." After a pause, a large grin displayed across the mortal's face, "I wish for our journey together to never end. I wish to see countless cities and wonders across all of Tor'gyyl with you at my side!" Sal'sheen smiled, "As you wish, mortal." And with that they set off to see what the world had to offer. Sal'sheen was eternal, eventually the life force of this mortal would expire but until that point he would enjoy their company.
